Stamped with Memory

Through soft tones and subtle detail, Yash Rane transforms everyday India into a heartfelt series of collectable memories.

Yash Rane’s stamp series began with a simple yet powerful idea—turning his personal memories of India and Mumbai into pocket-sized souvenirs. Inspired by vintage objects like matchboxes and old currency, he saw stamps as quiet storytellers, capable of holding emotion, place, and time in a single frame.

His design process is intuitive. It starts with a photo - often years old—that still holds emotional weight. Yash pares it down to its essence, adding faded tones, postal marks, and minimal typography to give it the feel of something rediscovered in a drawer. Each piece invites quiet reflection.

Yash captures not just landmarks, but everyday scenes that often go unnoticed, evoking a quiet, familiar emotion. Even iconic sites like the Gateway of India or Mehrangarh Fort are reframed with softness and space. The project shifted how he sees cities: slowing down, observing closely, and finding meaning in overlooked moments and textures.
