PepsiCo's 7UP Gets a Major Makeover with a Citrusy New Look!
PepsiCo, one of the leading players in food and beverages, is renowned for its meaningful and vibrant packaging design. Once again, they are revolutionising the game with the latest rebrand of their lemon-lime drink, 7UP. The brand has undergone a major international revamp, marking its first in seven years. The new 7UP design embraces the iconic elements of the OG design while refreshing it to make it sleek, modern, and vibrant, reflecting the brand's UPlifting ethos.
The new design retains the signature green colour but adds citrus tones to better reflect the lemon and lime flavours. The new logo features a dominant "7" with a strong drop shadow, paired with "up" in their signature red, which adds an exciting and youthful vibe to the packaging. The design also incorporates circular shapes resembling bubbles and citrus wedges, which add a playful and refreshing quality to the packaging.
Mauro Porcini, SVP & Chief Design Officer of PepsiCo, reveals the concept behind the rebrand as ‘UPliftment’. He says, “Our new visual identity for 7UP was inspired first and foremost by the brand's creation of moments of UPliftment throughout its history. The PepsiCo Design & Innovation Team created a bright and confident visual identity system that will echo across cultures, regions, and languages."
The rebrand is being launched with the slogan 'New Get Up, Same 7UP,' which cleverly communicates the message that the drink's great taste remains the same with a fresh new look. To reinforce the new message, 7UP will soon roll out its first consumer engagement platform, providing unique experiences to people internationally.
The new 7UP rebrand is an outstanding example of how a simple, well-executed design can have a significant impact. The brand's uplifting ethos and fresh new look are sure to resonate with people worldwide, bringing moments of UPliftment to people's lives in unexpected ways.
