Elephant, the independent design and brand consultancy that has been shaping India’s design landscape since 1989, is stepping into an exciting new chapter — the launch of its Asia Pacific hub in Singapore.
The move signals Elephant’s intent to grow its presence in the region’s dynamic FMCG and consumer brand space while strengthening ties with its global client base. Leading this expansion is Swetha Iyer, Growth Director – APAC, who brings a wealth of experience from her time at Why by Lonsdale in Singapore, Landor in India, and her long-standing collaboration with Elephant. With her international perspective and alignment with Elephant’s values, Swetha is poised to build meaningful bridges across markets.
Over the years, Elephant has partnered with some of the most iconic brands — from Tata, Reliance, and Himalaya to Coca-Cola, Domino’s, Revlon, and L’Oréal — creating strategic and culturally rooted brand solutions. The consultancy is also a founding member of The Design Alliance Asia, a network of leading independent design agencies that has been fostering cross-cultural collaboration for more than 25 years.
Singapore now becomes the gateway for Elephant to amplify its creative reach across Southeast Asia. As Ashwini Deshpande, Co-founder & Director of Elephant, puts it:
“This is not just an augmentation. We see APAC growing to match, or even surpass, our India practice in the coming years, driven by our sensitivity to cultural insights and our agility in collaborating with diverse talent across the region.”
Swetha Iyer echoes the sentiment:
“Singapore, as the gateway to Southeast Asia, is a vibrant hub with a diverse cultural footprint that reflects Elephant’s design ethos. Returning to lead the APAC practice feels like a natural continuation of my journey with Elephant, and I’m excited to propel this expansion forward.”
For Elephant, this expansion isn’t just about new geography — it’s about celebrating diversity, harnessing cultural insights, and building brands that resonate across borders.
