During Disney’s latest earnings call, CEO Bob Iger confirmed that Disney+ will soon allow subscribers to create and consume AI-generated short-form content directly on the platform. Yes, you read that right, Disney+ isn’t just a streaming service anymore; it’s evolving into a creative playground.

Iger describes this shift as a way to deepen user engagement, giving fans tools to make their own AI-powered clips, remix ideas, and explore Disney stories in a new, interactive format. Users will also be able to watch content generated by other subscribers, turning Disney+ into a dynamic ecosystem rather than a one-way entertainment pipeline.

This move aligns with Disney’s larger strategy of blending storytelling with next-gen tech, especially after its partnership with Epic Games, hinting at more game-like, participatory experiences on the horizon.

At the same time, Disney is working closely with major AI companies to ensure the brand’s vast library of IP remains protected. Iger acknowledged that safeguarding characters, worlds, and stories is essential as Disney opens its doors to AI creativity.
