Making Art More Accessible
Continuing the initiatives by Late Hanif Kureshi
Art is a spark that connects us all, a bridge between what we see and what we feel. It's not just a luxury confined to high walls or polished frames; it's a shared experience that lives in vibrant murals, playful sketches, and bold colours on public walls. Art has the power to reflect our humanity, inspiring connection and belonging across cultures and perspectives. When it's accessible to everyone—free of barriers or borders—it becomes more than creativity; it becomes a community.
In 2013, the late Hanif Kureshi chose to take his love for creativity beyond the boundaries of his work at Wieden+Kennedy, stepping boldly into the streets with a mission. Alongside Arjun Bahl, Giulia Ambrogi, Akshat Nauriyal, and Thanish Thomas, he co-founded the St+art India Foundation. Together, they transformed cities into living canvases, where art was no longer something to admire from a distance but something to feel, touch, and engage with. For Hanif, this wasn't just a project; it was a movement to make art a part of everyday life, accessible to everyone.
To honour this vision, Creative Gaga invites you to join us in Delhi and Mumbai for a series of Hangouts celebrating Hanif's incredible legacy. These gatherings are more than events—they're spaces to reflect on what art means to us, to share memories of Hanif, and to connect with the creative souls who continue his work. Together, we'll explore what it means to democratise art, to bring beauty and stories to the streets, and to inspire new ways of thinking and seeing.
Join us as we celebrate a legacy that reminds us: art belongs to all of us. Let's create, connect, and carry this spirit forward.
See you in the hangout!
