Transforming Radically

Young energy brings a place alive.

The essential idea or intention of the whole act and process of re-designing the office space was to transform the standard, traditional and typically formal corporate look, feel and atmosphere of Telstra (Infosys) physical work environment into one that was more representative of the youth or young energy. This meant translating the space into something that was rather contemporary, colourful, artistic and, most importantly, agile in nature.

Renewing is refreshing.

Company philosophies and ideologies, core values and beliefs were all put into effect and application, though in a new form. The customary, not-so- appealing and unappetizing feel of cramped and congested cubicles was changed into a more vibrant space by introducing carpets that were vibrant, and getting rid of unnecessary partitions between the work-stations.

Asymmetrical shapes with mnemonic relating to the telecom industry were used alongside mixed media such as vinyl, 3D, acrylic, MDF, hand- painted canvas and glass. Sporty and trendy visual graphics were inserted onto the otherwise customary pillars and beams, creating an appeal to even them.

A new vibe is transformative.

In the end, what resulted was a complete make-over of not just the physical space, but more so of the vibe and sense of the work area – a visual experience, on the whole, that would raise and maintain the energy levels of those working from the space. This meant being able to create an effect that would aid in getting rid of the mundane feeling and resultant routines.
