Being passionate about art from a young age, it made sense for Rahul to pursue art as a career. He was inspired by illustrated books and often tried to recreate the art, eventually he realised this was his true calling.

Rahul follows a meticulous creative process that starts with a thumbnail on paper or his ipad. Later he works in an iterative manner as he details out the drawing. Since most of his work is commercial, the digital medium is preferred. For detailed work he uses his Wacom pen tablet with Photoshop. But when sketching for pleasure, Rahul likes to experiment with mediums like ink, markers and water colours.

One of the many interesting works of Rahul, is the Red FM campaign. The idea was to play with the Red FM tagline “Bajate Raho”, which means 'keep playing'. For this he designed fun caricatures that combined people with different instruments. The expressions on the different people add to the humour. For this project Rahul collaborated with Kshitij Chandel, Creative Director - JWT, Delhi.

Inspiration is drawn from everywhere, believes Rahul. We are surrounded by fascinating things, people, animals, expressions, and so much more. Rahul is also inspired from master artist and illustrators from around the world, namely, Norman Rockwell, Howard Pyle, Frank Frazetta, Jean Giraud, Ralph Mcquarrie, RK Laxman and Mario Miranda.

Finally, Rahul tells us that the essential habits to cultivate a career in the creative field are to just draw, tell your stories, and stay curious.
