The Newbie

Graphic designer and Illustrator Sonal Nagwani is the new kid on the block; graduated in April 2017 she is still learning the process and methods of the flow of design work, nevertheless she believe it changes, depending on what kind of project she is working on as each project requires a different solution.

Her process follows a rough frame wherein she begins by accumulating information relevant to the project and sketching or making thumbnails. This helps in quickly recording initial ideas. Showing these to the client saves an enormous amount of time because it helps in filtering various ideas and design approaches, and the direction where the project is heading.

Inspired by the cities she has lived in and the people she has been around, Sonal gets fascinated by traditional art patterns and visiting museums and palaces that showcase art from different eras of the history influence her work. Most of which follows combinations of simple forms with subtle details and bold, vibrant colours, subject to the need of the project.

PetSpotter App.

Developed as initial screens for the PetSpotter App, a conceptual mobile app allowing its users to adopt a pet or put one up for adoption.

This project was done to showcase handmade skills by creating handcrafted items for charity.

Developing personalised characters for a simple yet elegant wedding invitation that was inspired by the characteristics of the couple.
