Freedom To Imagine

Giving personal interests and likes a life through your own mind is a freedom that only an artist has! Moksha Rao shows us how easy it is for her!

Imagining her characters belonging to a fantasy world, Moksha gives them a non-realistic feel with angular edges and keeps them simple, but details them out with apparels and accessories, things that interest her personally. She sometimes would model characters with clay in addition to using the tools of pen, pencil and markers.

01 The Backpacker

The Backpacker was inspired by a hiker waiting for a cab and most of the things on her is what Moksha likes. The bag-pack is something that she would like to have, the badge is from her favourite comic, the beanie is what a friend has and the pin is owned by her roommate.

02 Splinter

This superhero is Splinter, a refined redraw of her fifthgrade sketch, accessorised even then. He has a mash of all the superhero-worthy objects and powers from back then with modified shoes as Moksha likes to deck up her characters with a solid pair of shoes.

03 Tuesday

Disliking Tuesdays personally, she calls this evil goat man Tuesday! This a turn-around character, drawn from all the angles so that when it’s animated, none of the details intended when it was designed are lost
