Delicate florals in red, blue and yellow gently fill the canvas as the swirls of intricate patterns surround the subject gracefully. Nayna Yadav is an illustrator and graphic designer based in Mumbai, India. Upon graduating in Industrial design from SID, Pune, Nayna cemented her expertise in the field by pursuing Communication Design in IDC, IIT Bombay. Drawing inspiration from Ukiyo-e and manga, Nayna’s artworks are intricately detailed. Her fondness for floral patterns developed in childhood as Kashida, and Kutch Embroidery often surrounded her, thanks to her mother, a textile designer. Her taste in art blossomed further as she began following artists such as Yuko Shimizu, Senju Shunga, and Victo Ngai.

This illustration stands as a representation of a living, breathing ecosystem that grows over its surroundings and itself. The pods breathe life and secrets as they hide the rest in their shadows. The perfect triadic colour palette of yellow, blue and red is inspired by Ukiyo-e masters such as Kuniyoshi, Hokusai or Kunisada.
