Created for Royal Enfield Social Mission, Journeying Across the Himalayas is a multidisciplinary festival that explores the region through exhibitions, performances, workshops, installations, films, and discussions.
The challenge for Codesign was to create an identity system that could hold together these diverse formats and stories without reducing the Himalayas to a single visual narrative.
Instead of relying on familiar mountain imagery, the studio approached the identity as an open and flexible system. The visual language was designed to move seamlessly across environmental graphics, digital communication, exhibition spaces, print applications, and motion.
The identity balances structure with adaptability. Typography, layouts, colours, and image treatments create consistency while allowing different voices and subjects within the festival to retain their individuality.
What makes the project interesting is its restraint. The design does not attempt to visually “represent” the Himalayas through clichés or decorative symbolism. Instead, it creates a framework that supports storytelling across disciplines and communities.
