Illustrations with a human touch are what people look for and designer Ashwani Nagar understands that concept very well. His illustrations maintain the feel and emotion that resonate with people which in turn help them connect to the artwork at first sight.

Inspired by mundane events and interesting everyday people, one of his projects called Life in a Metro, Airport Swag depicts his acute sense of observation of how people behave and react while undergoing their daily journey to and from work to home. Collaborating with art partner Manish Minglani, the series of 12 posters offer a microscopic view on peoples’ everyday actions and behaviour. Made using sketchbook, Photoshop and Illustrator, this artwork symbolises how humour can help educate and create positive change in society.

Sport makes the heart race and the world stop. Such action, speed and momentum when captured through design, create vitality that is hard to miss. Shreedhar Sutar, an Illustrator and Art Director, believes in understanding and tapping into the USP of the subject in order to do justice to expectations and final outcomes.

Raw in look and feel, Shreedhar uses his favorite tool – his hands, to sketch ideas that the brief demands before loading them onto the computer where the designs get their finishing touches. Inspired by random images that people post on Facebook, Shreedhar pays tribute to various national and international sports by creating sports illustration (artworks) that get hearts thumping and people jumping. It’s definitely a win.

Tutorial on capturing the Energy of the Sport!

India’s vividness is a great inspiration for designers galore. From culture and traditions to behaviour and insights, a plethora of concepts lie hidden in this multicultural land. Graphic Designer, Somdutt Sarkar, explores this rich culture to translate them into memorable design.

Embedded with cultural symbolism, his design combines Indian animals with a truck-art inspired appeal to create wall art that stands out. Quirky, native and attention grabbing, Somdutt’s artwork is laden with patterns, Indian motifs and meaning. Creating designs that satiate not only standards of aesthetics, but also practicality and timelessness, he says that designs can’t be simply a frivolous act of creation. “I try and incorporate some meaning in my designs, be it using an obscure art form or giving work to skilled craftsmen.” says Somdutt. Surely, his designs are not just show pieces.
